What Cars Will Race in the NED Whisky Tasmania Supersprint 2023?

From 19 to the 21st of May, experience the thrill and excitement of seeing your favourite drivers tear through the tracks as the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint returns to Symmons Plains Raceway for Round 4 of the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.
What is the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint?
The NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint is a Supercars Championship event that features a variety of cars from different manufacturers. It has been taking place at the Symmons Plains Raceway in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, since 1969. The event features three days of racing, with two practice sessions and three races held over the weekend. The Supercars Championship is one of the premier motorsport events in Australia, featuring high-performance touring cars from various manufacturers such as Holden, Ford, Nissan and others. The NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint is one of the most popular rounds of the championship, attracting thousands of spectators from Australia and beyond.
The three races will run on Dunlop’s super-soft tyres and will be the first of the tournament to run on the fastest type of rubber. The short track of only 100km makes for some very close racing, which is part of what makes this leg of the tour so exciting. There’s likely to be some craziness as the drivers seek to grab the smallest edge.
What Cars Will Race This Year?
This year, Camaro is set to take on Mustang for the first time ever. The Australian Touring Car Championship/Supercars has undergone a massive change in 2023, not seen since the move from the international-based Group A rules to the home-grown Group 3A V8 Formula in 1993. The Holden and Commodore have retired, replaced by the Chevrolet and the Camaro under the General Motors banner.
While previously, four-door sedans had been a staple of the race track, they are now replaced by two-door coupes. This new generation of racing cars (the Gen3) has been created with a focus on cost-cutting, improved racing and increased relevance. Drivers report that these new cars are aggressive and harder to control than their predecessors. They are also lower and wider, with a lower centre of gravity and less weight, and are similar to the road cars produced by Mustang and Camaro.
In 2023, you can expect to see 14 Camaros and 11 Mustangs on the grid. These will include:
