Electric, hybrid, diesel ...
Honda lands at Geneva Motor Show with the European version of the new CR-V, the first engine of the new series "Earth Dreams Technology", an unedited version of the Jazz and vehicles that have never before been allowed to see in Europe.
Honda EV-Ster prototype: a two-seater roadster with electric motor
Among the all-new concepts, Honda brings to Geneva is the prototype EV-Ster, a two-seater roadster with electric motor. High measures what the Lamborghini Aventador J, 1.1 meters long but is quite small: 3.57 m. At first their numbers are far from spectacular: 58 kW (79 hp) and reaches only 160 km / h maximum speed, yet its acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is 5.0 seconds, something that certainly helps deliver full torque from the first moment -that characterizes electric vehicles.
A full charge of the EV-Ster take 6 hours in a socket at 100 volts and 3 in a at 200 v. The autonomy of this model rear-wheel drive is 160 kilometers. And not all the credit goes to the battery capacity: The EV-Ster also endure longer without needing to be recharged through the use of carbon fiber in his body.
Honda NSX Concept: European premiere
But for technology demonstration, it is even more interesting the NSX Concept , as seen already in Detroit but first in Europe: combines a direct injection V6 engine with three electric motors that use technology
"Hybrid SH-AWD Sport". Two of these motors are combined with a torque control system for regulating the amount that is sent to the front axle in turn, so as an AWD, but still more accurately. A third electric motor is integrated into the transmission and combined at all times with the V6 and gearbox double clutch to form the hybrid mechanical NSX Concept.
Honda new engine: 1.6 i-DTEC of 120 hp, coming to Civic soon
The Geneva Motor Show is also the occasion chosen by Honda to present the engine 1.6 i-DTEC of 120 hp, coming to Civic soon and noted for its lightness, as the CR-V Europe, compared with the well-known American version some parameters are modified to suit European roads and diesel engines : calibration of the suspension, brakes, steering...
Curiously, in Europe have had to change the front bumper and make tweaks to the headlights and lighting to suit our laws and finally, the Jazz If is a package mostly cosmetic, involving changing the bumpers and running boards and to which is added a small rear spoiler, but the engine remains the 1.4 iVTEC 100 hp.
