Best-selling European model will show some things about the new generation Volkswagen Golf 7 and will be revealed to the world in early September in Berlin, then will be the undisputed star of the Paris Motor Show 2012.

For now, officials gives some data on the new VW Golf 7. Thus, the size of the new Golf 7 will be significantly higher than the current VW Golf 6, as follows:

- Length: 4255 mm (+56 mm)
- Width: 1799 mm (+13 mm)
- Height: 1452 mm (-58 mm)
- Wheelbase: 2634 mm (+59 mm)

In other words, the new Golf will remain within the compact class, very interesting is that the new generation loss about 6 cm in height, which emphasizes what officials said: the new generation will be more sportier and dynamic.

In the wheelbase, compared to Golf 6, 5.9 cm increase is welcome, but the value of 2.63 metres puts Golf 7 only on the midle of compact class, being shorter than that of Renault Megane (2641 mm), Ford Focus (2648 mm) and Hyundai i30 (2650 mm).

Luggage capacity increases by 30 liters, reaching 380 liters, very well for the new Golf, but there are direct competitors who are better in this respect: Citroen C4 (408 liters) or Honda Civic (401 liters).

Because the body iss redesign and use more aluminum components, the new VW Golf 7 promises a decrease in average total mass of 100 kg to Golf 6 - eg basic version will weigh only 1,050 kg unladen, compared to 1143 kg for the current generation.

The new Volkswagen Golf 7 will have lower consumption by up to 23%, but officials announced reductions in prices by 7% compared to the current generation versions.
