Some companies have come to Frankfurt to show how useful it can be a Smartphone for the car.
Continental has filed an application: the phone becomes the key to the car. It works by recording on the SIM card protected data file, which identifies the vehicle by receivers installed on all doors and trunk, allowing access to its interior. The interested user should enter on a web page where you record your data, mobile data and the car. This technology is called NFC : Near-Field Communication.
But the Smartphone as understood Continental serves more than to open and close your vehicle. Through the web, you can create personal profiles, which would store the driver's tastes: Adjustments of the steering wheel and seats, radios favorites ... And, just as we have seen in many electric models, through the Smartphone is accessed the board computer in order to find out, from anywhere, the state of the car, especially how much gas or electric charge remain.
Among other features, the phone would reproduce an alarm if someone tries to move the car without your permission, and we could record where we have left if we do not know the area in which we are moving. When we want to return to the car, we must follow the instructions of the GPS.
The system of opening and starting the car by phone is not anything new, because for years that Nissan was presented in collaboration with specialized companies NTT Docomo and Sharp.
At that time, the technology was simply to include the system intelligently and automatically opening the device. The resulting phone was the key buttons on the back cover. What until now has not been done and it has thought Continental was to introduce the necessary code in your own SIM card.
