The compact Ford MPV received in October more efficient propeller which is already well known within the range of Focus. Mounted on the C-Max, consumes more fuel with just one tenth.

The powers available to the 1.0 EcoBoost in the C-Max and Grand C-Max will be the same now to those that can be chosen for the Focus: 100 or 125 hp.

In these models the consumption increase very slightly compared to Focus: if the official figure for the compact car is 5.0 liters per 100 kilometers, in the C-Max will be 5.1 l/100 km and the Grand C -Max of 5.2 liters. Emission levels amounted to 117 grams of C02 per km for the C-Max and 119 grams for the Grand C-Max. With that fall, being below 120 grams, shall be exempt from paying registration taxes.

The 1.0 EcoBoost was awarded the "International Engine of the Year 2012" for Best Engine of the Year, awarded by a jury of 76 journalists from 35 countries.
