Volkswagen Up engine view 2

The VW Up!, presented in three-door version in 2011, will have from now a body of five. It is best to retain its dimensions -3.54 meters long, 1.64 wide and 1.47 of high-and the same 251 liters of luggage.

The Up! provides a five-door practicality plus thanks to the generous rear doors. It is marketed with the same engine that the three-door version has, so with a propeller 1.0 three-cylinder that develops 60 or 75 hp. It costs 470 euros more than the 3 doors.

Distance, date and place

27 and 28 March . Traveled 200 km by highway and about 35 for urban sections with heavy traffic. The presentation took place in Düsseldorf, Germany and surrounding areas.

Product Curiosities

Like the three-door version was offered in four finishes: Move Up!, High Up!, White Up! and Black Up!. Aesthetically, the body lines do not change.

Inside: Common throughout the range

Is exactly like the Up! three-door, that is, a reference for quality and space, especially considering its exterior dimensions. There is much hard plastic but the settings are impeccable. In point of habitability, accommodates four adults with sufficient comfort, thanks to the rear is quite generous for both width and height. The rear doors provide good access, but for reasons of size, rear windows do not get off, if not that open bar.

On the road: capable and inexpensive enough

Is more advisable to opt for the 75 hp version, as of 60 hp is inappropriate to deal with motorway exits. Furthermore, the most powerful only an increase of 580 euros in the price. It has enough strength in the upper counter although in low, you are missing a bit more torque. The good news is that the engine vibrates very little despite their status as three-cylinder , sounds great and is associated with a five-speed manual transmission with excellent touch.

The suspension is hard but not uncomfortable and provides a very flexible reactions. In general, the chassis is fine tuned and poise on the highway is amazing, worthy of a larger car.
