Because square inch by square inch, the BMW 5 Series evokes an irresistible mix of sophistication and cultivated sportiness that would fit him (007) like a glove. Look at the long ribbed hood which occupies almost a quarter of car profile, and how the curved ceiling is high and completed by the short posterior.

Otherwise, the sample demonstrates that interior design practice in Munich is enough "airy", both in the front seat and at the bench, also, the trunk of 520 liters is suitable for any normal shopping session.
Obviously, if you don’t look at money - copy provided to test had almost 31 500 euro worth options - life on "Bimmer" can become downright lush, but even without leading to a stratospheric final price, the interior of this new BMW 5-Serie

When you know that personal wealth will decrease by about 90,000 euro, you expect only the best in terms of "fit & finish". And BMW 530d xDrive do not delay to deliver them: Dakota leather upholstery looks and feels great, plastics have soft texture and wood inserts present on the dashboard, doors and center console, create an atmosphere worthy of the higher segments.
Bavarian sedan presents itself impeccable in terms of quality and assembly, the holding place in front of the driver is solid as a monolith, however, it is important to note that this oasis of good taste could not exist without competition - sorry, money - off the owner. Only upholstery swells the bill with 1365 euro, while the M leather steering wheel and trim BMW Individual anthracite roof of color are part of a package that cost 5158 euro. Ouch ...
On the other hand, the interior collected two more white balls: one for the simple and balanced design, the other for good ergonomics (5-Series board has few buttons, because most systems are accessed via the controller iDrive "Evo", in addition, those who remain on the outside - Adaptive Drive technology controls, air conditioning, etc. are always at hand). And yet: even all the clues are meant to highlight the car's sporting character, the thought that this could be one of the most comfortable BMWs ever produced will "haunt" you forever ...
Some will not receive this news with open arms, but decided to attract a good part of rival brands customers (especially those of the Mercedes E-Class), BMW risk a recipe where the main ingredient, pure dynamism, is not found in quantities of old models. If BMW won we will see in years to come, until then, we must recognize that, sprinkled liberally with spices comfort, the 5 Series has gained an irresistible taste of all-in-one product.

Acoustic activity is virtually non-existent, suspension and six-cylinder diesel engine make no noise; the rest, long or short bumps taken at small or large speed are wiped with such a efficiency that will shock the previous model fans.
The feeling of luxury limousine is cemented and nailed by a list of gadgets and technologies in which, to be honest, we only didn’t found a Jacuzzi. BMW 530d xDrive (with the price of nearly 90,000 euro) offers: of head-up display (which displays both speed and navigation system information), climate control, ventilated / heated seats, electric opening trunk system, Soft-Close closing doors system, rearview camera, surrounding cameras, Professional navigation system, Internet, voice control, USB audio interface and - phew! - Preparation for mobile phone business. We could just as well, to insert a link to the endowment of a Series 7.
Waiting for a reverse of the medal? Right: the intensity of man-car connection was diluted in direct proportion to the comfort zone migration. In Sport mode - or, if you're brave, Sport + -, BMW 5-Serie
remains the same reference in terms of dynamics, with precise steering, a ride neutral and a minimum roll, but no longer feel like an extension of your hands, as before. Sure, it's hard to complain given that the old model puts you to work even when you wanted to relax, and the car in the picture is so easy to operate, with its assist direction, intelligent 4x4 system and sublime automatic transmission (fast and very smooth shifting, the eight-speed box is undoubtedly the world's best automatic transmission), however, pleasure is artificiality. BMW 530d xDrive gives you everything you want in terms of luxury, technology and safety, but instead, take away the desire to climb on board to drive anywhere you see.
First aspect that was intercepted by the ear is that the car is equipped with 258 hp version of the "six-in-line". turbo-diesel. Putting the count and what we already knew - namely, this adorable ZF transmissions - we expected a real tour de force on the roads. Fortunately, expectations were confirmed: with a couple of 560Nm developed since the 2000 rpm, this diesel consumption has no problem to be appreciated in the fast vehicle segment. With a small caveat: despite the good sprints (at 80 to 120 km / h, for example, requires about four seconds) and acceleration of sports car (classic 0-100 km / h is solved in 6.1 seconds), the car agility suggested by the exterior design (or, for that matter, the M kit) is fault by the 1865 kg curb weight. So, transforming into a pseudo-luxury sedan has its price...
BMW 530d xDrive is certainly the civil safest transport vehicle in the world - after all, in some countries, you can buy a tank - but not very far from that title. First, it has five EuroNCAP stars, with very good scores in all chapters (from this point of view, it is clearly ahead of both the Mercedes E-Class and Audi A6
). Secondly, it's hard to be unhappy when the list of features are listed technologies as ABS, DSC, brake assist, active front headrests, front airbags, side and curtain airbags, Smart cruise control (car automatically brakes to keep a safe distance from the vehicle above), parking assist system (PDC system), Lane Departure Warning system, and camera visibility for intersections.
However, you may add Night Vision system that recognizes the presence of pedestrians with a heat detection device for 2,000 euro.
8.0/10 FUEL CONSUMPTION AND ENVIRONMENT
Sedan with nearly two tons, has a three-liter turbodiesel and four-wheel drive - does not sound good for Mother Nature, right? Yes, but what matter is the situation. At highway speed, for example, in Normal mode, 530d xDrive was happy with about 7.2 liters of diesel per 100 km, which is OK. "Problems" occur when a road without traffic lights let peace and bustle of traffic to enter the town or a busy national road: in such conditions, BMW 530d xDrive is quite a gourmet.
For example, a route of about 500 km combined, of which nearly 240 km of highway, 530d xDrive consumed 55 liters of diesel - so, about 11 litres/100 km. Perhaps, without energy recovery system and the Start / Stop, the situation was even more unfavorable, on the other hand, at this price level, we gladly pay the difference of 1.100 euros to 535i xDrive ...
We will not avoid the big words: BMW 5-Serie
sedan is the best in its class that can be purchased today. Point. Possess a classical elegance, a top dynamic (even if some of the"driver's car" tone was diminished), comfort and refinement of a Series 7 (with right optionals) and excellent workmanship.
Few days ago, we have a discussion on the trend of football arenas decreasing capacity, due to continuous broadcasts modernization. In other words, the clubs do not invest money in construction of giant stadiums because television, aided by modern technology, were "lured" supporters in front of small screens. Exactly - goodbye crowding, comfortable armchair and welcome the phases resume of all possible angles.
