The seventh generation of the Volkswagen Golf
is likely to be launched at the Paris Motor Show this autumn. Volkswagen is managing to keep most of the details hidden on the Golf VII. After putting all the rumours and the spy shots together, a point has been reached from where we can make out as to what will be revealed in Paris.
The Paris Auto Show is going to be held from the 29th September to 14th October this year at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France. The 2013 Volkswagen Golf
MK VII is sure to raise the bar in the segment when it will be revealed in this show. Golf is still the core of the Volkswagen brand. Golf is the mainstream successor of the original Beetle and it has been right-sized for owners who have families, particularly in Europe where the parking space is not so easy to find, being scarce and limited.
This compact car will be dictated by the MQB modular platform. Discussions are on currently to shed the car by about fifty kilograms. This is one of the moves that are going to allow the car to provide a boost concerning efficiency. Another important feature is going to be the state-of-the-art engine.
Oil burning lovers can look forward to a TDI range. Those who have preference for petrol will be happy to expect the much talked about GTI and the R versions. The EA 112 2.0-liter turbo is probably going to be ditched in favor of the new EA 888 powerplant. The all-wheel drive will not only be offered on the R go-fast version but it will also be offered on the mid-range engines.
There are plans by Volkswagen to offer a plug-in hybrid edition of the car at a later stage. Volkswagen is aiming to repeat the success of its fourth generation Golf in terms of styling with the Golf MK VII.
