It seems that this year Mercedes wants to wow auto world more than it does every time it launches a new car and in a very short time two unique versions for Mercedes history: the most powerful SLK (SLK 55 AMG- 422 hp) and SLK with diesel engine (250 CDI).
Mercedes is forced to offer a diesel for the sporty
Mercedes-Benz SLK Roadster, given the competition. Now they do and immediately hit the ball. The new SLK 250 CDI gets under the hood a 2,143 cc four-cylinder that offer a power of 204 hp. As usual with Mercedes is the enormous torque: 500nm. The diesel engine combines sporting performance with very little thirst: the average consumption is limited to 4.9 l/100 km and that while the can Roadster sprints from 0-100 km / h in 6.7 seconds.
For now, the standard diesel engine is linked to the Plus 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox. Mercedes like that everyone to knows that a sporty roadster with a manual six-speed gearbox is more fun, so a manual version will be available from the second half of 2012.
Like all SLK models (even the SLK55 AMG !), the SLK 250 CDI gets a standard start / stop system. The CO2 emissions of the car are limited to 128 g / km.
Three variants of the famous vario-roof are available for the diesel version, and three different variants of the suspension. You can opt for a conventional steel suspension, a sport suspension and an electronically controlled suspension.
The
Mercedes-Benz SLK 250 CDI outside is indistinguishable from the gasoline version; even the dual exhaust system was retained. Our hearing will probably help the cars to keep apart. The SLK 250 CDI can be ordered from 13 September, the car will cost in Germany € 41,828.50 including VAT.
