They did it again! Audi has just win for the 11th time in 14 years time the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And that's what they've been done with a hybrid diesel car with four-wheel drive. Who would have ever thought? Competitor for Toyota ran Le Mans 2012 on a big disappointment.
The Audi R18 e-tron quattro number 1 -departed yesterday from pole position and actually drove unchallenged to victory. Behind the wheel of this car sat the last 24 hours Andre Lotterer, Marcel Fässler and Frenchman Benoît Treluyer. So the French can still celebrate a small party.
Audi has managed to get to seize at position 1, 2, 3 and 5. The only stranger in the list is the Lola B12/60 Coupe with Toyota Motor (start number 12) from Rebellion Racing. Unfortunately this is not the car where Jeroen Bleekemolen drove in, because in his car (car number 13) had the clutch replaced and therefore ended the car in general position 11 and position 7 in the LMP1 class.
In the GTE Pro class the prize was going to a
Ferrari 458 GTE AF Corse including Giancarlo Fisichella at the wheel. Place 2 in this class also went to a
Ferrari 458 GTE and the third position we find an
Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The first Corvette was on place 5 and the first Porsche was in number 8 place.
Also in the GTE Am class Porsche grabs alongside prices. There goes the first prize to a Corvette and then get a Porsche and a
Ferrari 458.
Later today, but look forward to 2013 and hope that Toyota can offer a little more resistance to the all-powerful Audi. In 2014, anyway Porsche will be in LMP1 class, so that's for sure means fireworks.
