McLaren released last week, the new car for 2012 season of Formula 1. The event took place at Woking, UK. Called MP42-27, aims to be a major competitor to Red Bull.

New car has some modifications to the MP4-26, most of which are required by changes in regulation.

Thus, the MP4-27 features a changed exhaust system (no longer possible to eliminate the gas with the rear spoiler when the pilot does not use the gas pedal) and have a larger rear wing than the car in 2011. Also, the back of the race car is noticeably narrower than the MP4-26. As if Lewis Hamilton complains were listen (he complained last year that the mirrors are too small), the new car of McLaren is equipped with larger mirrors than on the previous season in Formula 1.

"The whole team worked hard to make things as we all want. We hope to be a fast car, with which we fight for victory in every race" - Martin Whitmarsh, boss of the McLaren Formula 1 team.

"There seems nothing revolutionary about this race car. Car looks like six or seven years ago, but remains to be seen what it can do. In 2011, McLaren finished 2nd in the constructor's championship (497 points), after champion RedBull (650 points). The highest ranked British pilot was Jenson Button (2nd in the drivers top with 270 points earned).
