An Volkswagen Golf reaches 725,000 km... and is still like in the first day!

Volksvagen Golf IV
Roy Dyson acquired in 2002 a second-hand Golf with the idea for many miles. He had just moved to Devon from Lancashire, United Kingdom, two counties separated by about 500 km, so he knew that in all weekends should be again in Lancashire to be with his family and friends.
Thus, in July 2004, the Roy's Golf already had 100,000 miles so 160,934 km, and in June 2007, the odometer showed 200,000 miles meaning 321,868 km. The Golf suffered his first breakdown close to 300,000 miles -482,803 km- when the alternator broke, that cost him around 300 euros, and, as Roy says, there was only one occasion when the car failed to reach house: in the winter of 2010, when Roy stepped on a plate ice and struck the left side of the Golf.
The car now has 450,000 miles, which are exactly 724,204 km and still maintains all the original mechanics. Dyson ensures only the required reviews intervals, used normal diesel and only had to replace tires -says it uses Michelin Energy- and brake discs and pads. Roy hand wash his car every two weeks and says that the secret is to follow the maintenance plan and to replace each piece by the time they begin to show signs of wear or fatigue, without waiting to break.
Finally, the workshop where he spends
Volkswagen Golf reviews, gave a review of the 440,000 miles 708,111 km.
